Halloween Face Painting
Halloween is a yearly festivity which is celebrated on 31st October. There are numerous Halloween activities including the most popular “trick or treating”, costume parties, carving pumpkins, decorating, scaring and playing pranks. Australia is finally catching up with America’s most favourite yearly celebration that is loved by kids.
Magic Mirror Face Painting Sydney
In Sydney this year, Magic Mirror Face Painting was booked out and did Halloween face painting and a range of Spooktacular designs on a range of people. Not only with little kids but adults wanted their faces painted to enhance their costumes and to stand out at their party that night.
It was amazing to see how many houses were decorated and the amount of families walking the streets to go “trick or treating”. Who would say no to a bucket of lollies?
We had 3 bookings in various locations in Sydney, including Annandale, Glebe and Manly. Magic Mirror Face Painting face painted a range of scary and intricate designs including a devil, day of the dead, unique lantern mask, zombie flight captain, tribal design and a very scary clown! Take a look at our most favourable face painting designs on Halloween.
Our first Halloween face painting design this year was the scary devil! This design was inspired and adapted from the Wolfe Brothers “beast design”. First a ¾ flat brush was used with Paradise red. The design outline was created. Using a sponge, Paradise red was applied all over the face. Wofle FX black and white was used to for the horns, teeth and eye brows. Now say “Cheeze!!”
A grey/black lantern mask was created. Initially the child wanted a mask similar to the Green Lantern. The colours grey and black suggested as this was the colour of his Halloween costume. Firstly Paradise black was sponged on near the eyes, then Paradise grey was used to create the outside of the mask. Using a number 4 brush go over the outline of eyes in black to enrich the eye shape. To enhance the line work and cracks on the mask Wolfe FX black and white was applied.
Day Of The Dead
This design has to be one of our most favourite Halloween face painting designs which is day of the dead! Face painting day of the dead designs on men can be a little tricky at times.
A good idea is to ask what colours they like to start thinking how these colours can be incorporated into the design.
Yellow, blue and orange was chosen. White Star blend powder was applied evenly all over the face. A thick white paint should not applied because with these types of designs you want to create a light background and use brighter colours on top, to enhance the design. Paradise yellow and blue was used for the floral eyes. Paradise orange was shaded on the cheeks and swirls were painted on. All other line work was applied using Wofle FX black and white.
To create a zombie you need to start with a white star blend powder and powder this on all over the face.
It is ok to have some areas of the face un-touched as the background is not suppose to be an even white. Paradise red, purple and brown was sponged onto different parts of the face to create a “bruise”. Star blend black was used to shade the edge of the face and the eyes to create definition. Paradise purple was applied using a fine brush to create veins around the eyes. Lastly, fake stage blood was applied on different parts of the face to create a scary zombie face painting design.
Our last face painting customer on the night wanted to become a scary clown. To create this look you need to use a white star blend powder and evenly powder this all over the face. Using a number 4 brush and Paradise lagoon paint, begin to paint the eyes.
Using a black star blend powder begin to create lines and definition around the face to enhance the scary clown look. Using a paradise red paint and shade the nose.
Once that is finished begin the outline of the smile. Use a snazaroo white to create the teeth and Wolfe FX black to outline the teeth (ensure you take your time with the teeth). Go back over the teeth using Wofle FX white. Trickle some face stage blood near the teeth and you are done!
