Norton Street Italian Festa Leichhardt Sydney
Facepainting at the Italian Festa
Magic Mirror Face Painting took part at the Norton Street Italian Festa 28th year on Sunday 26th October 2014. It is the biggest street festival in the Inner West. With loads of entertainment and a crowd of 120, 000 people that attended last year, you wouldn’t want to miss it!
What facepainting did we do at the Italian Festa?
The whole of Norton Street began closing down at 3am, while the Italian Festa crew worked hard to set up hundreds of stalls and 3 entertainment stages for the public. Meanwhile our team at Magic Mirror Face Painting began setting up at 7am. We had never participated at the Norton Street Italian Festa, but it was a great event. Besides the hot and humid weather it was a successful day. Our stall had a team of 6 amazing people who worked very hard. We offered a range of activities at our stall including:
Face Painting – Inner West
Fairy K and Fairy Laura were the 2 face painters on the day. We face painted a large number of children and a few adults on the day. We painted around 100 people at the festival which made our event a great success. Our most popular designs on the day were Spiderman, Rainbow Butterfly, Elsa, Tiger, Princess, Flowers and Batman. Our team at Magic Mirror Face Painting can provide you affordable and unique face painting parties. Call our team on 0422 172 180 to obtain a no obligation quote on all your children’s party or corporate event needs.
Helium Character Balloons
Our balloons were the most popular at our stall. We had some amazing characters to choose from including our most popular Elsa & Anna from Frozen and Spiderman. Other characters were batman on bike, Mickey and Minnie mouse, Dora, Peppa Pig, Thomas, Nemo, Ben 10, Minion, Monster High character and Cars. The great thing about helium balloons is that they can stay floated up for several days-several weeks. Balloon cheering sticks contain no helium and just air. The bell inside of it allows it to make noise when it is being shaken.
We had a range of 2D and 3D plaster pieces for children to paint. Our most popular plaster piece was the frangipani. Plaster painting gave the parents the opportunity to sit down and relax while their children began painting and decorating. We had a range of colours to choose from including metallic green and purple, along with red, yellow, blue, orange, pink, black and white. The children enjoyed spraying lots of glitter on their finished pieces. The great thing about plaster painting is that it is a take home present. The child can have this specialised ornament on display.
What kind of Entertainment Was There?
Magic Mirror Face Painting were one of the many stalls that took part at this year’s event. There were over 240 stalls that participated. This included a range of Italian dessert/food stalls, clothing stalls, drink stalls, jewellery stalls, bag stalls, pet stalls, kitchen stalls and lots lots more.
At the cooking stage there were loads of cooking demonstrations in particular “Nonni in Cucina” who shared her some of her secret Italian dishes. Along with Luke and Scott who were from my kitchen rules. The boys demonstrated how good healthy food can be made, using Italian inspired recipes from their Clean Living Cookbook.
There were loads of kid’s entertainment from jumping castles, face painting, carnival rides, rock climbing, roving stilt walkers, garden games, animal farms, puppet shows and more. Ciao’s Spring fashion parade were displaying some of Leichhardt’s best local designers and boutique stores. SBS Italian filmed the great action at Norton Street Festa on the day. Also we can’t forget the festa without the luxury Italian car display. This includes the Alfa Romeo, Mustazolli and Miele, Prosecco and Murano Glass.
So don’t forget to lock it into your diary next year to attend the 29th year celebration at Italian Festa Sydney in Norton street Leichhardt, and visit Magic Mirror Face Painting there!
